Alessia KockelConservation Planning Consultant, Trainer & Researcher
I am a consultant, trainer, and researcher in the field of conservation planning. Most of my work and research to date has centered on the design of Marine Protected Areas (MPA) and MPA networks, particularly in the context of the Philippines and Canada. Another major aspect of my work is capacity building. In partnership with clients and collaborators, I develop and deliver training courses, workshops, and/or instructional materials to build capacity for biodiversity conservation and natural resource management. In the Philippines, I am also involved in community outreach to help protect nature and increase human well-being.
I have a Master of Science with the Marine Protected Areas Research Group at the University of Victoria, a Bachelor of Science with a Major in Wildlife Biology from McGill University, and a Technical Diploma in Ecological Technology from Vanier College. I am Canadian and currently split my time between Canada and the Philippines. Click here to view my full resume/CV. |
